When life gives you lemons....

Make Lemonade! Last weekend a lot of residents of orange county's lives where thrown a huge curve ball, as a huge wild fire to threw our neighborhoods. I honestly never thought that my life would be affected by a wild fire. Last Saturday morning Eli told me there was a fire by his house in Corona, well Amanda Redman and I where on our way up to the dump and we saw smoke. We weren't sure where the smoke was coming from so we kept driving up to the dump. We got there and paid our money that's when we could actually see flames on the side of the road. I was shocked that the let us drive in. We almost got to where we could dump our stuff and they made us leave they said the fire was to close. (Check out these pictures we took them at the dump) So we drove out and went to a different dump. Saturday it was really smoky here. That night we called Debi our family friend to see how she was doing, she said she was ok and just packing things in her house. About a half an hour later she called and asked if she could come stay with us because she was getting evacuated. It was crazy she only lives about 1 1/2 miles north of us. So I felt a little tense ex specially since i had left my car at Eli's and barrow ed his truck, and both the 91 and 57 freeways were closed and I had no way to get over and pick up my car. Thankfully the 91 freeway opened up that morning... We did accomplish one big project being stuck at home, I painted Eric's room because I am moving in to that room now. (For those of you that don't know yet Eric moved into a group home that specializes in behavioral issues, and he is doing awesome their, he loves it.) So I started my project of redoing his room. Sunday I went up to Santa Maria yet again to training there wonderful stylist and had fun like always. I got home today and I am tired but ready to do some more projects for my new room.

Oak Glen Saturday

This past Saturday I drove up to Oak Glen and met up with my brother and sister and their family's. I spent a couple hours with them. We first went to the pumpkin patch, and the kids had fun looking at and picking up different pumpkins. Then we walked over to the farm house. There were places to make cider. Over all it was a fun place to visit. I wish I could of spent more time there, but I had plans to attend an anniversary party. The party was kind of boring but probably cause I didn't know many people. I don't know why I can stand in front of a group and teach a class, but I have a hard time in groups out side of work. Oh well I guess I'm just not meant to be the life of the party. I can't believe how fast my niece and nephews are growing up. And there is soon to be a new addition, Amanda and Joe should be having baby Jonah on Halloween if everything goes as planned. Although when it comes to thing like having baby's they don't usually go on our timing. I can't wait to meet him. I think this is going to be a quick week since I'm taking Friday of so I can go out to Blythe to hang out with Gwen and go see the baby when he's born. I love to be an aunt and feel so lucky to have the time to spend with my family!

Turing the pages of life...

Well I haven't posted in a while. September was a busy month for me. I got to go to New Orleans for work. It was a lot differnt than what I expected. It was very clean I expected to see a lot more devestation and it just wasn't like that. After I came home I went up and spent four days with Patricia and her family. We had a good time. Patricia and I went to this comedy club, the main guy wasn't my favorite. I did like the girl who open for hime though, Kelly Price I never stopped laughing when she was on stage. Patricia's kids are so cute with so much personality, so much like their parents... Otherwise I have been working and dating. I've gone on a few first dates but I just haven't found anyone I really want to spend a lot of time with. It is hard accepting that life doesn't always go how I want it to. Somedays I just wish I could be married and have a family, but most days I know it's just not the right time yet. I know it well happen when it happens. As for home life, my parents are working on Eric moving into a group home, he's just getting to hard to handle, even with the guys here. I'm sure that him moving into a group home well be good for him, I think that his whole personality well change. Although it is hard to imagine what our house well be like with out Eric here ever day. This weekend we went out to Blythe for Amanda's shower. She's about 3 weeks away from her due date and Baby Jonah well be here. Gwen is getting so big, and I think her new favorite word is "sure", I can't tell you how many times she said that to me yesterday. I wish I had more time to spend with her. Amanda's friend made a cute cake for her shower. It's the the belly, so so cute! Well I guess it's time to cut this off I need to start getting ready for church. Hopefully I get back on here soon, Ican't believe I missed a whole month of blogging.

Somethings are Happy & and Some are Sad!

Well my day, today kind of started off with some sad news. My exhusband's grandma died today. She had some health problems over the past couple of years and her body finally just gave up. I will always remeber Dixie, she would be what most people would think of as a grumpy old grandma. But I'll remeber her for her love of square dancing, and family. She always let you know what she expected of people. I am glad to hear that she was there in Indiana with her family around her right before she passed.
On a happier note Joe, Amanda and Gwen came to visit this weekend, we went to diner on Friday night. Saturday morning I did all of their hair, even Gwen got her bangs cut. Then Last night we had another BBQ like most all Saturday nights. Earlier I went to the pool with Jenny and Steve and the Boys, we had a good time. I know I always say this but I am so lucky to have all my family close by and that we can spend so much time together.
Some exciting news on my work front, I am doing hair for our 2009 ad kit this week. Last year I did some color, but this year I will be doing haircuts too. I am really excited, this was one of my goals this year. These photos are displayed in all Fantastic Sams across the country, and also used in our advertising for the year. Just one more of the perks of my job. My next big trip for work is to New Orleans, I'm excited I can't wait to go there. It's a place I have always wanted to visit. It will be interesting to see how much progress they've made since huricane Katrina.
Next weekend I'll be in Vegas, I'll have to post about that trip when I get back.

Quick Recap

Well it's been awhilw since I have posted. This was a long week, I went up and traained all of the Fantastic Sams central coast stylist on TIGI Colour. There were between 10-20 stylist per class. So lets just say I could probably teach that class in my sleep. And all of the colors turned out amazing, this color line is great. Other wise I had a really good birthday, I went to dinner with Julie and Eli on Friday night. And then woke up early Saturday got my hair done, went to lunch with the family at BJ's and ofcorse spent the afternoon in the pool. I finshed off my birthday watching the fight with Eli, overall I had a great birthday. It was spent with family and friends just how it should be. I am blessed to have these great people in my life.

27 in two weeks!

Ok so I'm kind of having a hard time accepting the fact that I'm about to turn 27. I know that's not really all that old, but it does mean that my 20's are almost over. Everyone tells me thirty's are better, I guess I'll find out in two years. The reason I have such a hard time accepting these years going by I because I thought I'd be at a different place in my life at 27. Oh well I can't company to much I've gotten to do a lot of things and see a lot of places. And ofcorse I have had many awesome people come into my life also... Well now that I had my little fit. Lets see whats new in my life, I took Ally and Leslee to the airport Tuesday morning, so they are now back in Indiana, I had a good time with them while they were here. Otherwise I worked and walked all week. Tuesday and Wednesday I walked about 3mile and then Thursday and last night I walked 4 miles. Funny if you would of told me last year that I would be walking those distances I would of thought you were crazy. But I do have to say I love it. Walking gives me time to clear my head at night, and feel a little better. I have to thank Jared for getting me started, even thought we don't walk together anymore... Well it's the weekend again and the weather is warm, so I'm ready to be out in the sun and the pool. I think I'll be seeing my nephews today and doing just that.
